Great Fishing Lakes

There are many great fishing spots in Lake Erie. There are fishing spots on the peninsula (presque isle) as well as streams on other routes where fishing for steelheads is popular.
You don't have to have a boat to fish Lake Erie. You can fish from shorelines as well, but access to coves and mouths is definately a fishing trip worth while.

We like to fish for steelheads off the streams of the lake. Steelheads are tricky to catch. They put up a great fight and they are often large so it can be a struggle getting them to shore without breaking lines.

In late May my wife and I went to a stream just off the lake. We were using Salmon eggs as bait. We got many strikes, but we only successfully got to shore three total.
My wife caught a 22 inch steelhead. I caught a 20 inch and a 25 inch. It was a blast!
we spent a good portion of the day there and had a lot of fun cranking in those steelheads. We look forward to returning again this year!

Hope to see you there!
